Owner & Head Instructor at Neshama

“Yoga has meant many things to me over the years. At different times it has been a cherished hobby, a form of therapy, and a way of staying in shape. Now I would say it is my art. From the beginning I have noticed that as my yoga practice evolves, other profound changes start to occur in other parts of my life. Yoga has changed how I approach work, relationships and making critical decisions. It is my life’s work to share the transformative power of yoga with other people and especially women.

I first picked up a yoga book when I was 19 and struggling with several personal issues. During the summers betwween university classes I stayed with my family on Vancouver Island, which is a yoga mecca, and I followed studio classes daily. I dedicated two years each to Bikram, Ashtanga and Iyengar yoga. Those styles taught me discipline, but when I tried my first vinyasa yoga class in Toronto, I finally found my place in the yoga world. My favourite yoga studio became like a “second home” to me. Over the years, as I worked behind the scenes with the studio management, I eventually took the leap to start teaching myself.

In 2013 I started teaching full-time. Neshama was founded in 2018. Over the past decade I have followed 1000+ hours of training with senior teachers specialized in therapeutic yoga, spiritual growth, creative programming and holistic wellbeing. The studio program spans all of these elements, allowing students learn for themselves how yoga can serve as a catalyst for positive change in their lives.

In addition to yoga training, I have also completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master’s degree in Sociology.

Although serious by nature, I teaches with lightness. When you step into Neshama you will hear my very loud and contagious laugh!

I moved to Belgium in 2016. I live in Kuringen with my partner and two daughters.”
